Weight Loss Surgery Daily Inspiration For July 12, 2008
Take care of yourself. You probably don't schedule your day like this: 9 o'clock: eat breakfast, 10 o'clock: get your hair cut, 11 o'clock: have a crisis, 12 o'clock: go to the dentist. The crisis arrives uninvited and forces you to change your life around it. Webster's defines a crisis as a "turning point in the course of anything." Some crises are worse than others, yet they all are turning points. Just breathe. A clear head will get you through your crisis. Concentrate on your WLS plan to minimize the impact, and take good care of yourself. Action for the day: How do you handle crises? In your journal, describe the types of crises that have driven you to overeat or to be self-destructive in the past. Then, make a plan you can use when faced with a crisis. List out exactly what you will do to take care of yourself. © 2007, National Association for Weight Loss Surgery. All rights reserved.
